This role is ideal for a collaborative accounting professional who enjoys financial analysis, grant and fund accounting, audit support, and contributing to process improvements that strengthen organizational effectiveness and compliance. Responsibilities Support month-end and year-end close processes in accordance with nonprofit accounting standards and organizational policies. Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial statements. Maintain accurate accounting records for restricted and unrestricted funds, grants, and donor contributions. Analyze departmental budgets, grant expenditures, forecasts, and budget-to-actual variances. Assist with the preparation of financial reports for management, board members, grantors, and funding agencies. Support cash flow management and financial planning activities. Participate in annual financial statement audits, Single Audits, and other compliance reviews as required. Assist with organizational budgeting and forecasting processes. Collaborate with program managers, development staff, and leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting and grant compliance. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies. Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making. Requirements 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit organization. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field. CPA designation completed or in progress preferred. Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, including fund accounting and grant reporting. Experience with accounting software such as Sage Intacct, Blackbaud Financial Edge, or similar systems. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong financial analysis capabilities. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
Pay:
$31.00 - $35.00 per hour
