Job Description

We can show you how. The Senior Accountant performs various accounting activities including developing, implementing, and maintaining the accounting systems, policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for compiling, analyzing and reporting accounting data for management, reports and other decision-making purposes, and acts as primary fiscal liaison with government agencies and other funders on contract issues; and provides guidance and expertise to junior accountants. Timely preparation and data entry of assigned information into accounting software. Monitors and analyzes various cash accounts. Performs account reconciliations. Reviews new and current Human Services ("HS") funding contracts for fiscal requirements including budget limits, spending restrictions, and billing frequency and deadlines. Meets with HS Program Directors on a quarterly or more frequent basis to review current, projected and final spending plans, as well as budget modifications, when necessary. Prepares invoices in a timely manner as defined by contract.

Monday through Friday (8:00am - 4:30pm) Schedule can vary depending on department needs. High school diploma or equivalent AND 7 years of experience required OR. Associates' degree AND 5 years of experience required. OR Bachelor's degree AND 3 years of experience required. Required Degree(s): Accounting, Business Management, or related field.
Required Experience :
Must be related to accounting and related functions including monthly closings, general ledger, reporting, budgeting, tax filings and compliance. Must have experience with Microsoft Office suite including excel.
Preferred Experience:
Additional experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and/or payroll preferred. Candidates are expected to provide current, valid clearances (Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprints, and PATCH) prior to first day of employment.
