Job Description
A respected government entity in Centralia is seeking a Contract Accountant to support their finance team during a transitional period. This role is ideal for someone with public sector or fund accounting experience who can step in quickly and support critical accounting functions.
Key ResponsibilitiesSupport month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliationsMaintain and reconcile general ledger and fund accounts in accordance with government accounting standardsAssist with budget tracking, grant accounting, and expenditure monitoringPrepare financial reports and support internal and external audit requestsEnsure compliance with GAAP and governmental accounting standards (GASB)Review and analyze variances across funds, departments, and programsCollaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
