1 Accounting Intern Position Summary The Accounting Intern provides support to the Accounting and Finance team by assisting with routine accounting functions, data entry, and financial reporting processes. This position offers hands-on experience with accounting systems and procedures, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities. Employees are expected to perform assigned duties in accordance with Company policies, established procedures, and applicable regulations, while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all work performed. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist with general accounting tasks including data entry, account reconciliations, and transaction review Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking Assist in payroll processing activities, including report preparation, verification, and documentation support Compile, organize, and maintain financial records and supporting documentation Review financial data for accuracy and completeness and report discrepancies to appropriate personnel Assist with preparation of reports, spreadsheets, and basic financial analyses Support month-end and year-end closing activities as assigned Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and employee information Follow all Company policies, procedures, and internal controls Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental and Company operations Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer applications Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and good attendance Physical Requirements Ability to perform work in an office environment Ability to sit, stand, and use a computer for extended periods Work Environment and Schedule Office-based position located in Erie, PA Flexible schedule based on academic requirements and departmental needs Apply for this Position Apply with Indeed
