Job Description:
The Cost Accountant/Analyst will manage sales and inventory month end accounting and reporting. Position requires analysis of inventory activity, review of job/batch closings for accuracy and inventory adjustments as needed for quantity-on-hand, cost/pricing adjustments and disposal of non-conforming and expired material. Analyze and report on production efficiency across multiple business units. Position is also responsible for Sales reporting, analysis and month-end reconciliation. Monthly and periodic analysis of Cost of Goods Sold and gross margins. Must be able to develop working relationships with employees at all levels of the business. This position should act as a liaison between Production, Purchasing and Accounting. The main job duties and responsibilities will be:
  • Inventory and costing analysis-includes monthly summary reports by location, inventory type and trends.
  • Financial Statements-prepare various P&L formats by business unit
  • Payroll posting and general ledger maintenance pertaining to payroll
  • Sales Reconciliation and Reporting-includes customer sales reports, gross margin analysis by customer and/or product.
