Job Description

The Company Timberlane, founded in 1995, designs and manufactures a complete line of premium, custom exterior shutters for luxury homes throughout the United States and abroad. We operate a vertically integrated manufacturing business from our 78,000 SF facility in Montgomeryville, PA and are known for exceptional craftsmanship, white-glove customer service, and a culture of continuous improvement. We are seeking a high-potential Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. This is not simply an accounting role. It is a growth-track opportunity for someone early in their career who aspires to become a Controller. We are looking for a smart, ambitious, technology-forward "thinker-doer" who thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. The ideal candidate combines strong accounting fundamentals with curiosity, initiative, systems thinking, and a passion for improving workflows through technology and AI. This is a full-time, onsite role based in Montgomeryville, PA. No hybrid or remote accommodations will be considered. Position Overview This role is designed for a finance professional approximately 5-10 years into their career who has already demonstrated strong performance and leadership potential. The successful candidate will work directly with company leadership and gain broad exposure to: Financial accounting Manufacturing cost accounting Inventory and operational finance Financial reporting and analysis ERP systems and business processes Technology and workflow automation AI-enabled productivity tools Strategic business decision support This position is intentionally hands-on and suited for someone who enjoys operating in a lean, entrepreneurial environment where accountability is high and bureaucracy is low. The successful candidate must be a self-starter who naturally takes ownership, figures things out independently, and does not require excessive direction or structure to be productive. This is not a narrowly defined corporate accounting role with layers of support staff and rigid departmental boundaries. In a smaller business environment, everyone contributes wherever needed. The right person will embrace that reality rather than be frustrated by it. We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic, high personal standards, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine desire to continuously improve both themselves and the business around them. Experience in both larger-company environments and small-to-mid-sized businesses is strongly preferred. We believe this combination creates professionals who possess both technical rigor and entrepreneurial adaptability. Key Responsibilities Accounting & Financial Operations Prepare and post journal entries Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Support preparation of financial statements and reporting packages Assist with cash flow tracking and financial forecasting Support budgeting and financial planning activities Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation Assist with multi-state sales tax compliance and reporting Support external audit and tax preparation processes Manufacturing & Operational Finance Assist with inventory accounting, reconciliation, and valuation Support manufacturing cost accounting and job costing analysis Analyze production variances and operational trends Help improve visibility into product profitability and operational KPIs Partner cross-functionally with operations, sales, and leadership teams Technology, Systems & Process Improvement Leverage advanced Excel skills to improve reporting and analysis Utilize AI tools and emerging technologies to improve workflows and efficiency Identify manual or inefficient processes and propose better solutions Assist with ERP system optimization and data integrity initiatives Help build dashboards, automation tools, and reporting improvements Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the finance department Leadership & Growth Demonstrate leadership potential, ownership, and initiative Develop the capability to eventually manage accounting operations Contribute strategic and analytical insights beyond transactional accounting Participate actively in business discussions and problem solving Continuously expand technical, operational, and business knowledge Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance Approximately 5-10 years of progressive accounting or finance experience Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong technology aptitude and systems orientation Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and organizational discipline Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment High level of integrity, accountability, and professionalism Demonstrated initiative and intellectual curiosity Desire and ambition to grow into senior financial leadership roles Strongly Preferred Experience in both: o a larger, professionally managed company environment, and o a small-to-mid-sized entrepreneurial business Manufacturing and/or cost accounting experience Experience working with ERP systems Exposure to financial analysis and operational reporting Experience utilizing AI tools, automation, or workflow technologies CPA track or CPA eligibility is a plus Desired Characteristics We are looking for someone who is: Hungry, ambitious, and eager to grow Naturally curious and This position is intentionally hands-on and suited for someone who enjoys operating in a lean, entrepreneurial environment where accountability is high and bureaucracy is low.
