Job Description

About the Opportunity Our client, a mission-driven nonprofit organization located in Philadelphia's historic Old City district, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to gain hands-on experience, work closely with leadership, and grow into a future accounting leadership role within the organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to learn. This position offers exposure to a variety of accounting functions and a clear path for professional growth. Key Responsibilities Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities Support payroll processing and related accounting functions Perform bank and account reconciliations Prepare and maintain accounting records and supporting documentation Assist with month-end close activities Support general ledger maintenance and financial reporting Process invoices and ensure accurate record keeping Collaborate with internal departments to support accounting operations Assist with audit preparation and special projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred Experience with reconciliations, invoicing, AP/AR, or general accounting functions Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications Nonprofit accounting experience Grant accounting exposure Payroll experience Experience working with accounting or ERP systems Why Consider This Opportunity?
