Senior GL Accountant
OVERVIEW
We are looking for an experienced Accountant. This role will be responsible for US GAAP and SOX compliance, General Ledger month-end closing processes, corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, ensuring the accuracy of accounting records, ensuring that reported results comply with accounting principles and standards, and developing internal control policies and procedures. Simplify and streamline processes.
Responsibilities:
Managing all finance and accounting operations Coordinate and direct the preparation and closing of the month-end and year-end financial statements for independent audit or review Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and report variances Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements Knowledge in percentage of completion revenue recognition Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements Support month-end and year-end close process Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Manages the company's financial reporting system, and generates monthly financial statements and ensures the integrity of the balance sheet Coordinates the annual audit/review, bank audits. Primary contact for external and internal auditors
Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance 8 years of related experience (Project based accounting experience considered an asset). Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics SL is considered an asset. Excellent Microsoft Excel skills; working with large datasets from multiple systems. Strong analytical background; results driven. Strong verbal, written and presentation skills. Proven ability to prioritize activities and manage workload in a complex fast-paced environment with strict deadlines. Well-developed critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and business operations personnel. Why work at Safariland?
