Junior Accountant

SUMMARY:

This position is primarily responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial statements and schedules, month end processing, general accounting duties, research, and analysis within the accounting department.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements and schedules in accordance with corporate deadlines Prepare assigned month-end close journal entries, reconciliations, and general accounting processes such as general ledger analysis, accruals, and research Assist with completion and oversight of day-to-day banking transactions and various accounts payable functions Work with external and internal auditors Internal SOX procedures Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field or an additional 4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills Understanding of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) controls and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Ability to independently meet frequent deadlines Attention to detail and accuracy
