Senior Accounting Specialist

Wilkes-Barre, PA | Full-Time Martz Bus is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accounting Specialist to support financial operations across multiple business units. This role works directly with the Corporate Controller and plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll operations, and ensuring compliance with tax and reporting requirements. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes ownership of their work, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and wants exposure to multiple areas of accounting in a stable, long-standing company. What You'll Do Support payroll processing,ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local requirements Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts Process invoices and support accounts payable activities Prepare and support tax filings, including state sales tax and IFTA reporting Assist with financial reporting and ensure data accuracy Investigate discrepancies and resolve vendor or payment issues Identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting efficiency Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate financial data across operations What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field — or relevant experience 5+ years of accounting experience (payroll, AP, or financial reporting preferred) Strong Excel and financial systems experience Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities Strong problem-solving and communication skills We offer an excellent benefit package including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance and a 401k saving plan with an employer match up-to 4.5%.
