Summary:
The Property Accountant is responsible for providing timely financial statements to the owners/investor of their portfolio of self-storage properties.

Prepares financial statements, including reconciling prepaids and accruals, and verification of balances on the income statement and the balance sheet. File timely sales and use tax returns and ensure real estate taxes and insurance subledgers are accurate and paid on time. Analyze general ledger accounts for any month end reclassifications including budget variance analysis. Calculate and process Owner distributions Track Loan, Insurance and Property Tax invoices to ensure timely payments Track business licenses, personal property tax filings, etc. on a timely basis. Assist in the preparation of the annual budget process. Verify the company credit card transactions and post to NetSuite. Monitor daily cash balances and assist bookkeepers with reconciling cash accounts as needed. Special projects on an as needed basis assigned by the Accounting Manager. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications. In office scheduling requirements are determined by your supervisor and are subject to change at any time. Additional duties as assigned.
