38883 | Interim Senior Cost Accountant

A manufacturing client of ours near Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a contract Senior Cost Accountant (Hybrid role for local candidates or remote with occasional / ad-hoc travel to plant). SAP ERP experience required.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely month-end closings Perform cost accounting functions, including variance analysis and product costing Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes Analyze financial data and prepare reports for management Assist with annual audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors Ensure compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and regulations Utilize SAP for financial data management and reporting Create and maintain cost centers, profit centers, and other master data Generate standard and custom reports using ERP system capabilities

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or related field (required) Cost accounting experience in manufacturing environment with strong understanding of manufacturing process (required). SAP ERP experience (required) 3-5 years of experience in general ledger and cost accounting Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and critical thinking skills. Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills. Ability to create and analyze data to help the business make decisions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
