The role supports the Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager on recurring monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables for Peak's real estate investment and joint venture portfolio. The position does not require deep expertise in any single area; rather, it is structured to develop a well-rounded accounting professional capable of contributing across the full lifecycle of accounting and tax-related activities. The Accountant works closely with the broader accounting team and partners with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, timely deliverables. Financial Accounting & General Ledger Reconcile bank accounts for Peak ownership accounts on a monthly basis. Assist with journal entry posting for all cash transfers. Assist with preparing corporate expense entries sourced from Bill.com. Prepare the Peak Global Line of Credit reconciliation monthly and post the allocation of interest expense. Prepare the quarterly posting of interest income from earnings on cash deposits. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset capitalizations for Peak investments. Intercompany & Reconciliation Support Perform monthly review of intercompany reporting, including equity offset review across the portfolio. Assist with resolving routine reconciliation discrepancies and escalate complex items to the Senior Accountant. Reporting & Financial Statement Support Pull report packets for joint venture and investor reporting and submit to the Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager for review prior to delivery to third parties. Assist with the preparation of quarterly GAAP financial statements. Treasury Support Assist the treasury function by creating bank transfers via ACH and wire payments. Support daily cash activities, including morning bank checks and deposit and recording of paper checks. Tax Support Assist with preparing tax depreciation schedules for assigned entities. Assist with processing tax notices, including initial review, response drafting, and tracking items through resolution. Prepare year-end financial packages supporting tax return preparation. Team & Cross-Functional Support Support the Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager on recurring deliverables and ad hoc projects across financial accounting, reporting, and tax. Participate in deal-related accounting activities, including support for purchase, disposition, refinance, and recapitalization entries as assigned. Build broad exposure across financial accounting, reporting, treasury, and tax functions, with the goal of developing into a well-rounded accounting professional.
