Job Description

RFA Engineering (rfamec.com) is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support a broad range of financial operations, including accounts payable, payroll processing, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, supporting reporting and audit processes, and assisting with process improvements across accounting functions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, experience with ERP systems, and the ability to analyze financial data in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This position is mainly in-person, but occasional remote working may be acceptable. This is a full-time position with normal first shift work hours. Accountant In this role, you will assist with accounts payable, payroll processing, account reconciliations, financial recordkeeping, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
Process and review accounts payable transactions, vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and customer billing activities for accuracy and compliance with company policies. Analyze and process weekly employee timesheet data to support project costing, labor reporting, payroll, and invoicing functions. Administer payroll processing activities, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, deductions, taxes, and benefits in accordance with applicable regulations. Prepare and maintain journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation within the company's accounting system. Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving discrepancies as needed. Support month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, account analysis, and financial statement preparation. Assist with internal and external audit activities by compiling financial records, schedules, and supporting documentation. Generate and analyze financial reports to support management decision-making and operational performance tracking. Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with established internal controls and accounting procedures. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support financial, administrative, and process improvement initiatives. Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 3-5 years of accounting, finance, payroll, or related professional experience preferred. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, pivot tables, lookups, and financial reporting functions. Working knowledge of general accounting principles, financial reporting, and account reconciliation processes. Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, or similar platforms. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs. Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact across all levels of the organization. Ability to handle confidential financial and employee information with professionalism and discretion. Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.
Pay Range:
