Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our newly formed family office. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards. Your expertise will support our client's financial health by overseeing general ledger activities, preparing financial statements, and maintaining precise records. Responsibilities Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and balance sheet reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with GAAP or appropriate standards. Conduct detailed account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly. Support payroll management using systems such as ADP, Paychex, or UltiPro, ensuring accurate processing of employee compensation. Assist with tax preparation and compliance activities, including experience with tax software and governmental accounting requirements. Utilize various accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Sage, Excel Collaborate with cross-functional teams on budgeting, financial analysis, and audit preparations to support strategic decision-making. Maintain meticulous data entry records and perform double-entry bookkeeping to uphold data integrity across all financial transactions. Requirements Proven experience in corporate accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP principles; governmental or non-profit accounting experience is a plus. Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Excel Knowledge of payroll management systems like Paychex or UltiPro along with experience in payroll processing is helpful Strong understanding of technical accounting concepts including journal entries, account reconciliation, debits & credits, and general ledger management. Ability to perform detailed account analysis and balance sheet reconciliation efficiently. Excellent math skills coupled with high proficiency in data entry (10 key typing) and double-entry bookkeeping techniques. Experience working within public accounting firms or in roles involving complex financial services is advantageous. Demonstrated ability to interpret financial concepts clearly and communicate findings effectively across teams. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
