Months Work Arrangement:
Onsite as needed, transitioning to 2 days/week onsite starting in July Equipment provided by facility We are seeking an experienced Accountant II to support healthcare-related accounting operations for a leading medical organization in Sacramento. This role is ideal for accounting professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and have strong experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, and GAAP compliance.
Responsibilities :
Perform general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close activities Analyze financial statements, accounting transactions, and variances Assist with audit preparation and respond to auditor inquiries Support physician compensation-related accounting activities Assist with budgeting, cost allocations, chargebacks, and operational finance functions Ensure compliance with GAAP, accounting standards, and internal controls Collaborate with department leaders and internal stakeholders to resolve accounting issues Maintain accuracy and confidentiality of financial records Help improve accounting workflows and financial processes
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field (equivalent experience accepted) 2+ years of recent accounting experience Experience with: General ledger accounting Journal entries Reconciliations Accruals Financial close processes Working knowledge of GAAP and accounting/auditing principles Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Experience using accounting or financial systems Ability to manage confidential financial data and meet deadlines Must reside in the Sacramento area and be available for onsite work as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
Healthcare or medical group accounting experience Experience supporting physician compensation activities Audit support experience Familiarity with financial reporting and cost allocation processes Experience with government or regulatory financial filings Budgeting and operational finance support experience Ability to work effectively in a dynamic, changing environment
