In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily bookkeeping activities, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and supporting the organization's accounting functions. Your expertise will help maintain compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), governmental accounting standards, and internal controls. Duties Perform data entry and maintain accurate records using accounting software such as QuickBooks online, excel etc Reconcile accounts including balance sheets, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. Prepare journal entries, account analysis, and month-end closing procedures in accordance with GAAP and company policies. Manage payroll processing using systems like ADP, Paychex, Ceridian, or UltiPro while ensuring compliance with tax regulations and payroll management standards. Conduct financial statement preparation, account reconciliation, and review of financial data for accuracy and consistency. Support internal controls by adhering to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) requirements and assisting with audits or external reviews. Assist with budgeting, tax preparation, and non-profit accounting activities as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and ensure compliance with governmental regulations. Requirements Proven experience in corporate accounting or governmental accounting environments with a strong understanding of financial concepts. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Workday, PeopleSoft or similar platforms. Knowledge of GAAP standards and technical accounting principles; experience with SOX compliance is preferred. Familiarity with payroll systems like ADP or Paychex along with payroll management procedures. Strong skills in data entry, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation. Ability to analyze accounts accurately through account analysis and account reconciliation processes. Excellent math skills including 10 key typing speed; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Experience in public accounting or working within a non-profit setting is a plus. Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and support audit processes confidently.
