Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team. In this role, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and supporting compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, facilitate smooth payroll processing, and support various accounting functions across the organization. Duties Manage bookkeeping and daily financial records Handle accounts payable and receivable Reconcile bank accounts and trust/IOLTA accounts Track expenses and organize transactions properly for tax purposes Help identify legitimate business tax write-offs and deductions Assist with payroll and payroll taxes Prepare monthly financial reports and budget tracking Work with our CPA during tax season Help keep the firm financially organized and efficient Monitor outstanding invoices and payments Ensure records are accurate and up to date Qualifications Proven experience in corporate or governmental accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP and SOX compliance standards. Proficiency in multiple accounting software platforms such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar tools; experience with Workday is a plus. Strong knowledge of payroll management systems including ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro. Demonstrated ability in account reconciliation, balance sheet analysis, journal entries, and double-entry bookkeeping practices. Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing skills preferred). Familiarity with tax regulations related to payroll and corporate taxes; experience in non-profit or governmental accounting is advantageous. Strong analytical skills combined with a solid understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, accounts payable/receivable, and general ledger accounting. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment; excellent organizational skills are essential.
