Remote About Sierra Forensic Group Sierra Forensic Group (SFG) is a boutique forensic accounting and investigations firm founded by former Big 4 professionals. We assist law firms, corporate boards, audit committees, government agencies, regulators, and organizations facing complex financial, compliance, and investigative matters. Our professionals specialize in forensic accounting, fraud investigations, litigation support, compliance reviews, anti-corruption matters, and financial dispute consulting. We work on domestic and international engagements across a variety of industries, helping clients identify risks, uncover facts, and resolve complex business challenges. Position Summary SFG is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join our Investigations practice. This role provides the opportunity to work closely with experienced forensic accounting and investigations professionals on matters involving fraud, financial misconduct, regulatory inquiries, compliance issues, and commercial disputes. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical and critical thinking skills, demonstrates sound professional judgment, and is capable of independently managing portions of investigative engagements. This individual is detail-oriented, intellectually curious, and committed to delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
Providing analytical and investigative services to a variety of clients including legal counsel, audit committees, government agencies, regulators, corporate boards, insurance companies, law enforcement, and management of companies involved in financial and fraud investigations and commercial disputes Conducting investigations related to embezzlement, whistleblower, financial reporting fraud, foreign corrupt practices act (FCPA), construction fraud, health care fraud, purchase price disputes, royalty audit, related party transactions, billing disputes, securities fraud, anti-money laundering, and other matters Analyzing and reconstructing fraudulent transactions, complex transactions, financial statements, etc. Data mining and analysis, including database construction of financial records, accounting data, database extracts, etc. Performing electronic reviews of evidence Assisting with discovery on document requests and interrogatories Assisting with the preparation of questions for interviewee Assisting with the preparation of expert and other reports, affidavits, and other client deliverables Compiling organized working papers Contributing to proposals and assisting with business development activities to grow our practice Cultivating and maintaining positive, productive, and professional relationships with colleagues and clients
Qualifications:
Minimum
B.S. / B.A.
degree or equivalent in Accounting from an accredited university Preferred, internship experience in providing litigation, investigation, and forensic accounting services In progress towards attaining CPA, CFE and/or CFF certifications English and Spanish Fluency, Portuguese a plus Demonstrated ability to work independently to gather facts, organize data, analyze financial statements and other financial data, and identify relevant issues Strong verbal and writing and communication skills and ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to balance multiple priorities Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision Eagerness and willingness to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and understand your role on the team Driven to exceed client expectations Natural aptitude for solving problems Desire to learn and develop Ability to travel locally, nationally, and internationally to clients Ability to have flexibility to meet client deadlines Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint Why Join SFG?
