You are the operational backbone of our numbers—the person who ensures everything balances perfectly today while helping us build a bedrock for tomorrow. You'll handle the fundamental blocking and tackling of daily financials while partnering closely with our Director of Finance on higher-level accounting strategies. This is not a siloed data-entry role, as we prefer you fully integrated into our vibrant company culture and working cross-functionally with the team. This is a highly collaborative role, because our internal operations require a tight partnership to streamline spending and keep vendor workflows seamless. This is an influential role, because clean data is what feeds our growth strategy, and your precision directly impacts leadership decisions. This is an opportunistic growth role, because we are a venture-backed startup smashing down old walls faster than we can build new ones, and we want you to dictate and truly own your opportunity for professional growth. Have you ever felt you were different in your approach to finance—someone who loves the precision of numbers but still wants to be part of a team of like-minded, fun-loving, and aspiring individuals? We think that's rad. Join us. Responsibilities Own the daily blocking and tackling of AP/AR, ensuring vendor invoices are processed smoothly and customer billing is handled with care Manage and execute accurate payroll processing, expense management, and bank/credit card reconciliations across our accounts Partner closely with our Director of Finance to shepherd the month-end close process, preparing clean journal entries and supporting schedules Navigate and maintain our growing tech stack (HubSpot, Bill.com, Brex, and our upcoming ERP evolution), ensuring data seamlessly flows across platforms Collaborate on the creation of recurring financial reporting packages, providing visibility into the health and cash flow of our business Identify and flag accounting anomalies or process bottlenecks proactively, proposing smarter, automated solutions to help us scale efficiently Serve as the internal financial liaison, cascading clean data and expense policy updates to our teams so we can constantly optimize our overhead Maintain impeccable organization of financial records, making future audit prep or investor due diligence a total breeze Qualifications 2-4 years of hands-on bookkeeping or general accounting experience, ideally within a high-growth SaaS or technology startup environment Strong foundational knowledge of GAAP accounting fundamentals (understanding the why behind journal entries, not just the how ) Familiarity with modern cloud-accounting ecosystems (experience with HubSpot, Bill.com, Brex, NetSuite, Maxio, or newer systems like Rillet is a huge plus) Outstanding verbal and written communication skills—you can break down billing questions with professionalism and communicate in a polished and engaged way with our customers An adaptable, tech-forward mindset—you love learning new software and automating manual tasks using AI rather than doing them the "old-school" way Strong organizational skills, including a ruthless attention to detail, extreme discretion with sensitive data, and a habit of following through on every task Autonomous and independent mindset—you're a critical part of a team, but you get things done with high accuracy and minimal oversight A passion for operational excellence—at the end of the day, delivering clean, reliable data is what matters most to us. Location Case Status is based in Daniel Island, SC. This is an in-office role Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work from home on Mondays and Fridays. The candidate must be local.
