As we continue to grow, we are looking for a talented CPA who combines deep tax expertise with a client-focused, entrepreneurial mindset to join our team. Job Summary We are seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with strong experience in complex tax preparation and strategic tax planning to join our team in a hybrid capacity. The ideal candidate is not only technically proficient but also has a proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and contribute to firm growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA who wants to go beyond number-crunching and play a direct role in expanding a growing practice. Responsibilities Prepare and file individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns involving complex strategies (e.g., multi-entity structuring, retirement planning optimization, real estate tax strategies, estate and gift tax planning) Develop and execute proactive year-round tax planning strategies to minimize client liabilities Research and apply current tax law changes, IRS rulings, and regulations to client situations Review financial statements, general ledger entries, and supporting documentation for accuracy and compliance Identify opportunities for clients to leverage tax credits, deductions, and deferral strategies Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong advisory relationships Actively develop new business by networking, generating referrals, and participating in client-facing events and community outreach Cross-sell financial planning, advisory, and accounting services to existing and prospective clients Collaborate with the financial planning team to deliver integrated tax and wealth management solutions Mentor and support junior accounting staff as the team grows Stay current on federal and state tax legislation, industry trends, and best practices
Qualifications Required:
Active CPA license in the state of California Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Minimum 3 years of experience in public accounting or tax preparation Demonstrated experience preparing complex individual and business tax returns Strong knowledge of federal and California state tax codes Proficiency with tax preparation software (e.g., UltraTax) Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients in a clear, accessible way
Preferred:
