$45/hour About Pivot Financial Solutions We're the financial and operational side of the restaurant business. The part most owners never actually get: real financial leadership paired with people who understand how a kitchen, a bar, and a P&L connect. Pivot was built by an operator who spent nearly two decades in restaurants—from host to multi-unit leadership—before moving into hospitality finance. We don't hand owners a stack of reports and walk away. We close the books to GAAP standards, read what they're telling us, and turn them into decisions an operator can run on Monday morning. Put simply, we're the CFO and operational partner restaurants and bars lean on when they're done guessing and ready to scale, sell, or finally pay themselves. The Role We're building a local team in the Lehigh Valley, and we're looking for a Controller who can own both the books and the relationship. You're not buried in a back office. You're the person clients call. You close their month, then sit across the table and tell them what it means in language they can actually use. Our clients are growing businesses, many preparing to scale, secure financing, or eventually sell. We close to GAAP-level financials that hold up when a buyer, a bank, or an investor starts asking questions. That's the standard here, and we don't bend it. What You'll Own Monthly close processes across a portfolio of restaurant and hospitality clients GAAP-compliant financials from start to finish Books clean enough to withstand due diligence, lender review, or a buyer's accountant Client relationships and ongoing communication Financial review meetings and conversations with operators Journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end reporting Accurate reporting that drives real operational decisions Collaboration with our accounting and CFO teams Identifying issues before clients do Restaurant-specific accounting, including: COGS analysis Prime cost management Multi-unit operations Payroll and tip reporting Third-party delivery reconciliations Who You Are You've owned a close before—not just helped with one Strong GAAP and accrual accounting experience 5+ years of accounting experience at the Senior Accountant or Controller level Able to explain financials in plain language to business owners Comfortable leading client conversations Calm and steady when clients are stressed about cash flow Experienced with QuickBooks Online and cloud-based accounting systems Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills Detail-oriented and highly accurate Local to the Lehigh Valley and comfortable with a hybrid schedule Bonus Points If You Have Restaurant or hospitality industry experience Experience preparing books for a business sale, acquisition, financing event, or capital raise The Path This begins as a part-time 1099 contract role, approximately 5-10 hours per week, and grows alongside our client portfolio. As we add clients, the role expands. We're not hiring someone to plug a hole. We're hiring the first Controller on a local team we're building to last—someone who will eventually own a meaningful book of business and trusted client relationships. How to Apply Send us your resume and... a few lines about any restaurant or hospitality accounting work you've touched. If you've ever taken a set of disaster books and made them make sense. If you've closed a month tight enough to survive a buyer's due diligence process.
