Hybrid Full Time (Hybrid) USA - Birmingham, MI Finance Summary The Corporate Accountant is responsible for core corporate accounting activities under US GAAP, contributing to accurate financial reporting, month-end close, and intercompany accounting in a fast-paced corporate environment. This position reports to the Senior Manager, FP&A and is position is located at Dayco's Birmingham, Michigan office on a hybrid basis. Main Duties & Responsibilities Support month-end and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate financial statements Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, prepaids, and adjusting entries Perform timely account and balance sheet reconciliations and adjustments (including in Tagetik) Reconcile intercompany activity and resolve discrepancies with internal teams Conduct variance analysis to support EBITDA Flash and GAP analysis; identify drivers and partner with stakeholders to address questions Maintain general ledger accounts and supporting schedules Prepare and recommend continuous improvements to accounting systems, processes, and procedures to strengthen controls and improve efficiency Support the annual business planning process Support SOX compliance, audits, and special projects as needed Support special projects and ad hoc requests, as assigned Requirements & Skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting Working knowledge of US GAAP and accounting principles Experience in month-end close, account reconciliations, and variance analysis (preferred) Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Advanced Excel skills; ERP/GL systems experience preferred 1-3 years of related accounting experience is required
