$60,000-$85,000 Annually Position Overview:
The Vision Companies is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to support a broad range of financial operations for a growing engineering organization in Eden Prairie, MN. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of financial data while supporting accounts payable, payroll administration, account reconciliations, financial reporting, month-end close activities, and audit preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting knowledge, experience working with ERP systems, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to analyze financial information in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Accounting & Financial Operations Process and review accounts payable transactions, vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and customer billing activities Analyze and process weekly employee timesheet data to support project costing, labor reporting, payroll, and invoicing Administer payroll processing activities, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, deductions, taxes, and benefits Prepare and maintain journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation Maintain accurate financial records within the company's accounting systems Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile general ledger accounts Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner Financial Reporting & Analysis Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and account analysis Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports Generate and analyze financial reports to support business decision-making Track financial performance and provide data to support operational objectives Maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal controls Audit & Compliance Assist with internal and external audit activities Compile financial records, schedules, and supporting documentation Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting practices Support process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy Team Collaboration Partner with accounting, finance, payroll, and operational teams to support organizational goals Assist with special projects and cross-functional initiatives Provide support for administrative and accounting-related activities as needed Qualifications:
Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and financial reporting functions Experience with ERP or accounting software such as NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, QuickBooks, or similar platforms Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional discretion Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship Preferred 3-5 years of accounting, finance, payroll, or related professional experience Experience supporting month-end close and financial statement preparation Experience with payroll administration and project costing Experience supporting internal and external audit activities Knowledge of process improvement and accounting best practices Working Conditions:
