Director of Accounting Hitachi Federal is seeking a diligent, detail-oriented, and collaborative Staff Accountant to join our growing Finance & Accounting team in Reston, VA. This hybrid role will support day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, assist with month-end close activities, and ensure compliance with IFRS and company financial policies. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and eager to grow their accounting career within a fast-paced, mission-driven environment supporting federal operations. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain financial records, reports, and general ledger accounts Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations Support month-end and year-end close activities Process and review expense reports, Procurement Card transactions, vendor invoices, and cash applications Perform accounts receivable analysis and monitor collections activities Prepare bank reconciliations and monthly balance sheet reconciliations Maintain Fixed Asset and Prepaid schedules Process semi-annual benefit-related payments and maintain supporting documentation Support Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Treasury, and Purchasing functions as needed Respond to internal and external financial information requests Assist with audit preparation and financial statement review Ensure compliance with IFRS standards and internal accounting controls Support the Director of Accounting and Senior Accountant with special projects and reporting initiatives QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred Understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills High attention to detail and accuracy Effective time management and ability to manage multiple priorities Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting systems Experience supporting government contracting environments is a plus Experience in NetSuite/Oracle use is a plus WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employees are eligible to participate in Hitachi Vantara's bonus/variable/commission pay programs, where applicable, and are subject to the program's conditions and restrictions.
