Job Description
We are seeking a Fiduciary Tax Accountant to join a busy Trusts & Estates practice. Candidates at various experience levels are encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing fiduciary tax returns, estate tax returns, probate accountings, and assisting with trust and estate administration in a professional services or law firm environment. This position requires strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, along with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain detailed financial and legal records. Responsibilities Prepare federal and state estate and gift tax returns Prepare fiduciary income tax returns for estates and trusts Prepare individual, partnership, and nonprofit tax returns Prepare estate and trust probate accountings Assist with trust and estate administration matters Maintain and organize financial statements, investment records, and supporting documentation Develop and maintain tracking/accounting systems for client investments Communicate professionally with clients, trustees, banks, attorneys, and outside professionals Track filing deadlines and ensure timely filing of returns and accountings Analyze financial and legal documentation to support client matters Qualifications Knowledge of Trusts & Estates practice preferred Experience preparing fiduciary and estate tax returns preferred Understanding of accounting and trust procedures Knowledge of trial balance sheets and financial reporting Strong organizational and case management abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Ability to manage and maintain electronic financial data
