Summary:
The Investment Accountant will be a part of a team responsible for the accounting and financial reporting functions of the Lifetime Healthcare Companies' investments, including, but not limited to, the preparation of external (generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and statutory) and internal reporting, financial statement disclosures, regulatory and external audit support and is an integral member of the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close. This role is highly collaborative with internal Treasury, Tax, and Finance groups as well as external custodians, investment managers, consultants, and third-party service providers. This role understands relevant investment-related GAAP and statutory accounting rules and reporting to ensure the accuracy of financial data and supports ad-hoc investment-related requests.
Essential Accountabilities:
Level I Supports the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process for the Lifetime Healthcare Companies' investments, including the preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations, preparation of internal, external, and regulatory investment reporting, preparation of GAAP and statutory basis financial statement disclosure support and adheres to all key accounting controls to ensure accuracy and completeness, meeting all required deadlines. Reviews investment-related documents to support accounting and financial reporting determinations. Works collaboratively with a third-party investment accounting vendor and custodians to establish and maintain integrations, review transactions, and resolve discrepancies. Prepares and interprets investment income and balance sheet analytics. Verifies investment fees, capital calls and distributions in coordination with Treasury. Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies' mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and leading to the Lifetime Way values and beliefs. Maintains high regard for member privacy in accordance with the corporate privacy policies and procedures. Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required. Performs other functions as assigned by management. Level II (in addition to Level I Accountabilities) Works on more complex investment accounting and financial reporting issues, including, but not limited to, alternative and prospective investments. Provides enhanced support to ad-hoc investment-related projects and identifies and implements process improvements. Level III (in addition to Level II Accountabilities) Handles complex technical investment accounting and financial reporting issues and provides guidance to other investment accounting team members. Leads ad-hoc investment-related projects and discussions with external investment vendors including the optimization of third-party investment accounting vendor platform.
Minimum Qualifications:

All Levels One (1) year of related experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field. In lieu of a degree, six (6) years of experience required. CPA or advanced degree preferred. Public accounting and/or healthcare insurance experience preferred. Knowledge of, and experience, with Workday and associated systems preferred. Ability to interpret and effectively implement/apply changes in accounting guidance. Demonstrated attention to detail required, ability to work in teams and think critically. Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate across all levels of the organization. Takes initiative and promotes continuous improvement mindset and culture. Possess solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Level II (in addition to Level I Qualifications) Two (2) years of related experience. Demonstrates understanding of investments and financial markets, knowledge of investment accounting. Ability to handle more complex priorities. Level III (in addition to Level II Qualifications) Five (5) years of related experience. Advanced understanding of GAAP and statutory accounting. Advanced, comprehensive knowledge of investment accounting and financial reporting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; the flexibility to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and handle complex, competing priorities.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to work prolonged periods sitting and/or standing at a workstation and working on a computer. Level I:
Grade E1: Minimum $62,400•Maximum $84,000
Level II:
Grade E3: Minimum $62,400•Maximum $106,929
Level III:
Grade E5: Minimum $71,880•Maximum $129,384 The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the salary range for this position. Actual salary will vary depending on factors including, but not limited to, budget available, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position's minimum qualifications, in addition to internal equity. The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components of the total rewards package may include participation in group health and/or dental insurance, retirement plan, wellness program, paid time away from work, and paid holidays.
