Job Description:
The Junior Accountant provides essential support to the finance team and reports directly to the Finance Manager. This role is ideal for an early-career accounting professional looking to build hands-on experience across multiple entities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities across accounting functions, while proactively identifying issues, recommending solutions, and contributing to continuous improvement in financial and compliance practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Record Maintenance Post journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger records across multiple companies Ensure all financial data is recorded in a timely and accurate manner Accounts Payable & Receivable Process invoices and verify vendor statements Manage billing and deposits for multiple entities Prepare accounts payable and receivable reports, including intercompany transactions Reconciliations Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany balances Investigate and resolve discrepancies as needed Reporting Support Assist with month-end close processes Support preparation of financial statements and internal reports Compliance Ensure adherence to financial regulations and internal company policies Assist with company registrations and filings with various state agencies
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or currently in the final year of study Basic understanding of accounting principles (debits, credits, equity, liabilities) Familiarity with payroll taxes (SUTA, FUTA, FICA, and withholding taxes); additional training will be provided
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, or Intuit IES preferred
