Job Description

Position Summary The Junior Accountant supports the accounting department by performing a variety of routine financial and administrative tasks. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with accounts payable and receivable functions, and supporting month-end processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and eager to develop foundational accounting skills in a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities Process accounts payable invoices, including coding, verifying approvals, and entering transactions into the accounting system Assist with accounts receivable functions such as applying payments and preparing customer statements Perform data entry of financial transactions and maintain accurate records Reconcile vendor statements and assist with resolving discrepancies Support bank and credit card reconciliations Assist with month-end closing tasks as assigned Maintain organized digital and physical accounting files Communicate with internal departments and external vendors regarding invoice and payment inquiries Help track expenses and ensure proper documentation is maintained Assist with preparation of reports for management as needed Support special accounting projects and administrative tasks as assigned Qualifications Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred (or currently pursuing) Basic understanding of accounting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good organizational and time-management skills Ability to handle confidential information responsibly Strong written and verbal communication skills Willingness to learn and grow within the accounting field Preferred Skills (Not Required) Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Acumatica or similar ERP systems Internship or prior office experience in an accounting or finance environment Work Environment Primarily office-based role Collaborative team setting with opportunities for mentorship and training
