Job Description
Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Rotational Accountant to join our finance team. This entry-level position is ideal for an individual looking to begin a career in finance and accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting all accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, and assisting with collections. There will be exposure to payroll processing, payroll accounting & accounts payable as well. This is a hybrid opportunity and priority will be given to candidates living in a commutable distance to Northampton, MA. Key Responsibilities Process and generate sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner. Post and reconcile all incoming payments (checks, ACH, credit cards) to the general ledger. Maintain accurate accounts receivable records, including customer files and aging reports. Assist in the collections process by sending reminders and communicating with customers regarding overdue accounts. Prepare and process bank deposits. Reconcile accounts receivable ledgers with the general ledger. Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes. Respond to internal and external customer inquiries regarding billing and payment issues. Assist the senior accounting staff with various ad-hoc projects as needed. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or currently pursuing). 0-1 year of experience in an accounting or administrative role is preferred. 1 year of experience processing payroll for multi-state weekly and biweekly payroll (Experience with ADP, UKG, or similar systems a plus) Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Solid understanding of basic accounting principles. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
