is seeking a hands-on associate with strong accounting and financial reporting skills. The role will support the merchant banking team in various projects by providing support in financial reporting function for public companies, including preparing the Form 10-Q and Form 10-k, external audit and review support, managing treasure functions, tax filing coordination, deal execution support, and various ad hoc special projects. This position is best suited for a detail-oriented with "team first" attitude who is comfortable working in a lean, fast-moving public company environment and who is willing to wear multiple hats.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with quarterly financial reporting for multiple companies involved in the merchant banking division, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and support schedules. Prepare supporting schedules and draft disclosure support for SEC filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K for multiple public company projects. Support external auditor quarterly review and annual audit requests, including preparation of audit schedules and evidence packages. Assist with technical accounting research and documentation as needed, including support for significant transactions.
- Coordinate tax return filings with the tax return preparer.
Support in merchant banking deal execution task which include but not limited to; due diligence support, document execution, coordination with legal counsel and transfer agents and various other vendors. Support in treasury function across multiple merchant banking project. This includes setting up wires and ACHs and reconciling bank activity with the accounting records. Coordinate with internal teams, external advisors, auditors, legal counsel, and service providers as needed. Assist with merchant banking ad hoc projects. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of U.
S. GAAP and core accounting concepts. Experience supporting financial statement preparation, monthly/quarterly close, and account reconciliations. Exposure to public company reporting requirements, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K. Strong Excel skills and ability to work with detailed supporting schedules. Strong attention to detail, documentation discipline, and ability to meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and proactively in a lean team environment. Preferred Qualifications CPA or CPA candidate preferred. Public accounting experience, especially audit experience with public company clients, is a plus. Experience in a small-cap public company, SPAC/de-SPAC, is helpful.
