Ledgent Finance & Accounting - 4.0 Sacramento, CA Job Details Full-time $70,000 - $80,000 a year 13 hours ago Benefits Work from home Qualifications Accounting systems Nonprofit finance Spreadsheets Bachelor's degree GAAP QuickBooks Online QuickBooks Full Job Description Nonprofit Accountant Downtown Sacramento, CA $70,000-$80,000 annually In office 3 days a week and work from home 2 days a week (must be willing to drive in daily if business needs change) Position Summary The Nonprofit Accountant is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards. This role plays a key part in grant accounting , compliance, and financial analysis, and will support the organization's transition to a new accounting system within the next year. Key Responsibilities Maintain general ledger and perform month-end and year-end close Manage grant accounting , including tracking restricted funds, allowable costs, and grant reporting Prepare and monitor grant budgets; ensure compliance with grant and donor requirements Record and reconcile journal entries, bank accounts, and balance sheet accounts Prepare financial statements, schedules, and reports for management, funders, and auditors Support annual audit and 990 preparation Process and review AP/AR transactions as needed Use QuickBooks Online for daily accounting operations Assist with ERP system implementation , including data migration, testing, and process improvements Ensure compliance with internal controls and nonprofit accounting best practices Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a nonprofit environment Strong experience with grant accounting and fund accounting Proficiency in QuickBooks Online ; experience with other ERP systems strongly preferred Solid understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards Strong Excel skills and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting audits and federal/state grants Prior involvement in accounting system or ERP implementations All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
