Part Time Controller

Overview DT Construct is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Controller to provide financial oversight and support for our growing construction company with approximately $8 million in annual revenue. This role will work closely with ownership and the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong project financial management, and efficient accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have prior construction accounting experience and a strong understanding of project-based financial management, cost-plus billing, WIP reporting, progress billing, and budget management within the construction industry. Responsibilities Provide financial oversight and support for company operations Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning Review and analyze company cash flow to support operational and project needs Work alongside the accounting team to complete monthly financial close procedures Manage and support one accounting team member Review financial reports and help ensure accuracy and timeliness Oversee and monitor project budgets within Procore Assist with job costing and project financial tracking Management/oversight of monthly project bank draws (Cost-Plus billing) Review financial terms and requirements within construction contracts and subcontracts Help identify financial risks, cost exposures, and billing considerations within project contracts Prepare and review WIP (Work In Progress) reporting Oversee progress billing and financial tracking for ongoing projects Deposit checks and assist with check printing/payment processing Help improve accounting workflows and internal financial processes Support leadership with financial analysis and reporting as needed Ensure compliance with company financial procedures and controls Qualifications Prior controller or senior-level accounting experience required Experience with Cost-plus billing and bank draws Previous construction accounting experience required Strong understanding of WIP reporting, progress billing, job costing, and project financial management Proficiency in QuickBooks Online required Experience using Procore strongly preferred Strong understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently while collaborating with leadership and staff Schedule & Compensation Part-time position averaging approximately 20 hours per week Flexible schedule available Hourly compensation ranging from $40-$50/hour depending on experience Position expected to begin June 1, 2026
