$85,000•$100,000 per year Job Details•Responsibilities 1. Manage and oversee the entire payroll process for our organization, ensuring timely and accurate payment to all employees. 2. Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions. 3. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices. 4. Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors. 5. Identify and recommend updates to payroll accounting software, systems, and procedures. 6. Execute additional tasks as needed, such as preparing 1099 and 1042 forms. 7. Prepare and submit payroll reports to the appropriate departments and entities. 8. Work collaboratively with the Human Resources and Finance departments to optimize payroll procedures. 9. Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll queries. 10. Stay abreast of current regulations, best practices, and industry trends in payroll accounting. Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in payroll accounting, preferably in the energy sector. 3. Proficiency in payroll software, as well as with 1099, 1042, and payroll reporting. 4. Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations concerning payroll and payroll taxes. 5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 6. Strong numeracy and data entry skills. 7. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. 8. Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion. 9. Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. 10. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
