Full Job Description Project Accountant Location:

Greater Milwaukee Area (Hybrid)

Compensation:

$90,000-100,000 About the Company We're partnering with a well-established construction-focused organization that is continuing to grow and invest in its accounting and operations teams. This group operates in a highly collaborative environment, working closely with project managers and leadership to ensure strong financial performance across projects. About the Role This Project Accountant will play a key role in supporting the financial lifecycle of construction projects, partnering directly with project management and leadership. The position offers strong visibility into project performance, along with the opportunity to contribute to process improvements and financial accuracy across the business. Key Responsibilities Manage project financials from start to finish, including invoicing, vendor payments, and tracking outstanding balances Partner closely with Project Managers to maintain accurate job cost data within the ERP system Prepare project-level reporting, reconciliations, and analyze financial discrepancies Support work-in-progress (WIP) reporting and ensure accurate project forecasting Process change orders and maintain proper documentation across projects Assist with vendor setup, journal entries, and general accounting support Contribute to process improvements and support special projects as needed Qualifications Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor's preferred) Relevant accounting experience, ideally within construction, project-based, or similar industries Strong understanding of AR/AP processes, job costing, and project financials Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally Preferred Experience Exposure to construction billing, WIP reporting, or project-based accounting environments Experience working directly with project managers or operations teams Process improvement mindset with the ability to identify efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities This is an excellent opportunity to join an established yet growing firm with a great infrastructure for career development.
