We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Project Accountant II to support the Los Angeles Community College District's multi-billion-dollar Bond Program. This is an excellent opportunity for accounting professionals looking to gain experience in capital improvement and construction program finance while working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Salary Range:
$70K/Year-$85K/Year - Dependent on
Candidate's Qualifications Hybrid Schedule :
One (1) work-from-home (WFH) day per week
Key Responsibilities:
Review and process invoices, payment requests, and encumbrances. Assist with financial analysis and reporting for ongoing capital projects. Reconcile accounts and bank statements. Prepare journal entries, debit memos, and credit memos. Identify and resolve invoice discrepancies and documentation issues. Work closely with project teams, consultants, vendors, and campus personnel regarding financial matters. Support the development of financial reports and process improvements. Help ensure compliance with bond funding requirements and accounting procedures. Requirements At least 1 year of experience in invoice processing, accounts payable, project accounting, or a related accounting function. Associate degree, college certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and other business software applications. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience supporting construction, capital improvement, public sector, or project-based accounting environments. Experience working with financial management or project management systems.
