Job Description

Sower Investment Partners is seeking a Senior Accountant who brings the rigor of public accounting and the agility to thrive in a fast-moving investment environment. This is a high-visibility role with direct impact on fund-level financial integrity across a portfolio of investment and holding companies. You will own complex intercompany accounting, treasury operations, and month-end close processes, with room to grow as the firm scales. This role is ideal for a CPA or CPA-track professional with audit or public accounting experience who is ready to step out of the billable hour model and into a seat where your work directly shapes the financial reporting of a growing alternative investment firm. Sower Investment Partners is an Omaha-based alternative asset firm managing a diversified family of investment funds across four verticals: Farmland, Commercial Real Estate, Private Credit, and Ventures. We bring together disciplined investment strategy, entrepreneurial talent, and co-investment alignment to unlock value for our investors. Our team operates with the focus of a boutique and the discipline of an institution, and we are growing. What You Will Do Own accurate, timely financial reporting across investment and holding company entities in compliance with GAAP and internal policies. Record and reconcile monthly intercompany expenses and fees across multiple subsidiaries, managing intercompany suspense accounts. Prepare month-end journal entries for prepaid expenses, interest, property insurance, rent, and other items as needed. Assist with treasury operations, including ACH transactions, wires, and borrowing base preparation.
Administer property sales processes:
coordinating timely cash receipt and accurate recording of transactions in NetSuite. Assist with equity ownership changes for commercial and residential properties, working alongside external property management companies. Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems, workflows, and internal controls to enhance efficiency, scalability, and accuracy. Develop and maintain clear, written accounting policies and procedures. What We Are Looking For Required Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with 4 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience. Public accounting or audit experience; current or former CPA firm background strongly preferred. Advanced Excel proficiency and strong command of Microsoft Office Suite. Deep working knowledge of GAAP and a high standard for accuracy. Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines, and see projects through to completion. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to work across teams. Preferred Active CPA license or CPA-eligible. Minimum two years of real estate fund accounting experience, including acquisitions, dispositions, and rental properties. Proficiency in NetSuite. Experience in a fast-paced, multi-entity or fund environment. Why Sower Exposure to a diversified portfolio of alternative assets spanning farmland, commercial real estate, private credit, and venture investments. A collaborative, values-driven team that invests alongside its partners, creating genuine alignment between effort and outcome. Direct ownership over your work with clear impact on firm financial operations. A growing firm with opportunities to develop alongside the business. This full-time position offers competitive benefits and compensation package including two group health insurance options: PPO or HDHP plans, dental, vision and voluntary life insurance at nominal costs as well as additional individual policy offerings of Accident, Critical Illness and Hospitalization plans. Also available are Flex Spending Accounts (medical and dependent care) and/or an HSA account (with an HDHP). Company paid benefits include a $50K Life/AD&D Plan, Short and Long Disability Insurance plans, 401(k) with matching provision, unlimited vacation policy, 7 sick days per calendar year, 12 1/2 paid holidays and working in a collaborative, high energy team environment.
