Position Summary SEEQC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing Finance organization. This individual will play a key role in supporting the company's operational accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and process automation initiatives. The ideal candidate combines a strong technical accounting foundation with a proactive, continuous-improvement mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Candidates with Big-4 public accounting experience and exposure to public company reporting and SOX compliance are strongly preferred. This role will report directly to the VP, Corporate Controller and will work closely with the broader finance & operations leadership team. What You'll Do
Prepare monthly journal entries and supporting documentation across key accounting areas
Perform account reconciliations, including cash, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and other balance sheet accounts
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
Support preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and related disclosures
Assist with accounting for complex and technical areas, including: o Revenue recognition o Government contracts and grants o Lease accounting o -based compensation o Accruals related to research and development activities
Collaborate with external auditors during interim reviews and annual audits, including preparation of supporting schedules and audit requests
Support implementation and maintenance of internal controls and accounting policies to ensure SOX compliance and public-company readiness
Assist with development and documentation of scalable accounting and finance processes as the organization grows
Support finance systems implementations and automation initiatives, including ERP enhancements, accounts payable workflows, treasury operations, and HR systems
Oversee payroll administration and related reconciliations
Review invoice processing and accounts payable coding for accuracy and completeness
Partner cross-functionally with teams across the organization to support operational and financial initiatives
Assist with ad hoc finance, reporting, budgeting, and operational projects as needed What You'll Need
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; Masters & CPA strongly preferred
3-5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably including Big Four public accounting and/or public company industry experience
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles
Experience supporting SOX compliance and internal controls environments
Experience working within ERP systems and financial applications
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Collaborative mindset with a willingness to support evolving business needs
