As we continue to scale, we're looking for a driven Senior Accountant to take ownership of financial systems, support strategic decision-making, and help strengthen accounting operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in growing operational businesses such as construction, home services, installation, HVAC, roofing, solar, remodeling, or similar industries. This role is best suited for someone who thrives in evolving environments, takes ownership, communicates confidently, and enjoys improving systems and processes. What You'll Do This is not your typical back-office accounting role. You'll work closely with leadership and operations teams while helping shape the future of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage day-to-day accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, payroll, commissions, and general ledger activity Assist with and/or manage month-end close processes Produce timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements Prepare reconciliations and financial reporting Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes while identifying trends, risks, and opportunities Support job costing and project-based accounting Provide financial analysis to support business decisions, pricing, expansion, and hiring Develop and improve internal controls, accounting processes, and financial policies Work closely with leadership on strategic financial planning and operational growth initiatives Manage relationships with external CPA firms, tax advisors, and banking partners Monitor cash flow, working capital, and capital expenditures Assist with financing activities, reporting, and due diligence as needed Help build scalable accounting systems and processes as the company grows
What We're Looking For/Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls Experience in high transaction-volume environments Experience with payroll, AP/AR, reconciliations, and general ledger work Advanced Excel proficiency Strong organization and time management skills Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Strong communication skills with the ability to explain financial information clearly Ability to prioritize, stay calm under pressure, and work independently Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment Preferred Experience Construction, insulation, roofing, HVAC, solar, remodeling, installation, or service industries Mid-size companies ($25M-$100M revenue) Job costing or project-based accounting Experience improving accounting systems or workflows ERP/accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms CPA or MBA preferred but not required Ideal Candidate Traits We are looking for candidates who: Speak confidently and specifically about their accounting experience Have stable work history Take ownership and accountability in prior roles Are adaptable and comfortable in fast-moving environments Can clearly explain accounting processes and problem-solving approaches Have experience improving systems, workflows, or operational efficiencies Benefits Competitive salary Growth opportunity within a rapidly scaling company Leadership exposure and collaboration Team-oriented culture Opportunity to make a direct impact on company growth Schedule Monday to Friday Work Location Hybrid remote in Orem, UT 84057
