Aurora, CO (Hybrid) We are partnering with a growing, mission-driven organization in the Denver metro area that is adding a Senior Accountant to its team. This is a high-impact Senior Accountant role designed for someone who wants more than just month-end close-you'll gain exposure to leadership, take ownership of key financial processes, and play a meaningful role in scaling the accounting function. This Senior Accountant position is ideal for someone looking for a clear path into Accounting Manager and eventually Controller, with the opportunity to build both technical expertise and leadership skills along the way. What You'll Be Doing as a Senior Accountant Take ownership of the monthly and quarterly close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis Produce and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP Support and help drive revenue recognition (ASC 606) in a project-based, contract-driven environment Partner with operations to align project-level financials, including revenue and cost tracking Collaborate cross-functionally to improve cost allocation, reporting, and financial visibility Assist with audit preparation, including schedules, support, and technical accounting documentation Identify and implement process improvements, internal controls, and system enhancements Mentor junior staff and begin developing leadership and review responsibilities Contribute to ongoing improvements in ERP systems and reporting tools What We're Looking For in Senior Accountant Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Experience in a Senior Accountant capacity or prior leadership exposure Strong understanding of GAAP and technical accounting concepts Experience supporting audits and working with external auditors Experience in a multi-entity or project-based environment Why This Senior Accountant Role Stands Out This is more than a typical Senior Accountant role.
