The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in managing complex accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting strategic decision-making through accurate financial analysis. The successful candidate will own our back-office function, take full ownership of financial statements and reporting, and help ensure day to day operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to our growth by maintaining accurate records, streamlining processes, and leveraging software. This position will work directly with upper management to build, support and grow an early stage, nationwide workforce and business services organization. Responsibilities Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP standards. Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and collections. Oversee payroll administration ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation across multiple compliance and tax jurisdictions. Support C-Suite and HR with timely, accurate and ad-hoc reporting and analysis Conduct detailed analysis of financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including financial statement preparation and tax preparation. Proficiency and experience with QuickBooks Online required. Multi-entity, multi-state and local jurisdictional compliance, reporting and tracking will be essential. Experience a plus, but not required. Support benefits administration, vendor management, client service and lender relationships. Perform account reconciliation procedures for general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers such as accounts receivable and payable. Support tax preparation activities by providing relevant financial data and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations. Utilize analysis skills to identify discrepancies or inefficiencies within financial processes. Opportunity to own, build and improve financial process automations, controls and systems integration together with Company leadership. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferred. Three to five years of professional experience in public accounting or corporate accounting environments. Extensive knowledge of GAAP principles along with experience in technical accounting practices. Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) required. Working knowledge of AI-tools, LLMs and automations preferred but not required. Hands-on experience with payroll administration and processing preferred. Strong understanding of internal controls including SOX compliance protocols helpful. Demonstrated ability to perform account reconciliation and general ledger accounting accurately. Excellent analytical skills combined with attention to detail and organizational capabilities. Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies, tools and systems. Compensation Compensation includes base salary commensurate with experience, with potential for performance-based bonus and long-term growth opportunity as the company scales.
