Job Description:

A prominent national distribution company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team! This hybrid role, based in New Hyde Park, offers a salary of up $105,000 with bonus.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably with exposure to both public and private sectors Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Extensive experience in preparing schedules, managing processes, conducting reconciliations, and performing variance (flux) analysis Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while effectively managing tight deadlines

Responsibilities:

Prepare and post month-end journal entries for assigned general ledger accounts. Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate financial reporting. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in general ledger accounts. Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Payroll, FP&A, and Operations teams to facilitate the closing process and anticipate process changes. Lead efforts to implement best practices for streamlining and standardizing accounting processes. Analyze complex financial reports and records to provide insights. Perform variance analyses, identifying trends and investigating significant discrepancies. Assist in interim and annual audits by providing supporting schedules and collaborating with other departments to gather data. Prepare financial statement footnotes for bank reporting. Assist in documenting accounting processes and internal controls. Coordinate complex accounting projects with other team members or departments. Participate in system implementations, special projects, and ad hoc analyses
