Job Description

Senior Accountant Pittsburgh, PA (Hybrid) $90,000 – $120,000 An established and growing organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its U.S. finance team. This role plays a key part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, supporting timely month-end close processes, and ensuring strong financial controls. The position also contributes to the ongoing modernization of the finance function. The role is hands-on and accounting-focused, with exposure to financial reporting, analysis, and ERP transformation initiatives. The Senior GL Accountant will collaborate closely with FP&A, operations, sales, and HR teams while maintaining a strong focus on accounting quality, compliance, and internal control.
OVERVIEW OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT ROLE
Support and execute month-end and year-end close activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP and international accounting standards. Perform account reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, and ensure accurate account classifications. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely and well-documented manner. Assist with preparation of financial statements and external audit deliverables. Contribute to strengthening internal controls and improving accounting processes. Manage sales tax reporting and filings in coordination with external advisors. Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget, forecast, and prior year) and explain key drivers. Prepare monthly analytical reports to support management decision-making. Assist with KPI reporting and data validation in collaboration with FP&A. Monitor budget adherence and cost center performance. Identify risks or unusual trends based on accounting insights.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. 5–7 years of relevant U.S. accounting experience. Demonstrated experience managing month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations. Experience working with ERP systems (Dynamics or Navision experience is a plus). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Power BI is a plus. EB-1101168087
