This industry leader manufactures specialty sorbent products used across pet care, agriculture, industrial, automotive, and environmental markets, backed by millions of tons of proprietary mineral reserves and operations across the U.S. This is an exciting opportunity for a high-impact accounting professional who enjoys both technical accounting and cross-functional collaboration. You will play a key role in corporate accounting, SEC reporting, audit coordination, and process improvement while working closely with plant and corporate teams.
Responsibilities:
Support month-end and quarter-end close through journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations Manage lease accounting using LeaseQuery, including quarterly analytics and reconciliations Prepare and review revenue recognition entries in JDE in compliance with ASC 606 Prepare monthly general ledger reconciliations with accuracy and timeliness Assist with SEC filings, including 10-K, 10-Q, and Proxy statements, using Workiva Prepare financial statement footnotes and statement of cash flows Partner with cross-functional teams to analyze advertising and trade spending Prepare quarterly business analysis to support internal management reporting Coordinate internal and external audit activities, including walkthroughs and documentation Ensure compliance with SOX and internal control policies Prepare multi-state sales and use tax filings, including the Chicago Lease Tax Manage unclaimed property filings across multiple states Support special projects, process improvements, and ad hoc financial analysis Cross-train to provide backup coverage for critical accounting functions
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting CPA required 5+ years of progressive general accounting experience SEC reporting experience preferred Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables Highly detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Experience with JDE, Workiva, LeaseQuery, and OneStream preferred
