  • $98,000 Overview The Senior Accountant is a key member of the accounting/finance team, responsible for maintaining the integrity of financial records and providing critical analysis to support management decisions for the organization.
This position offers a great atmosphere with tremendous benefits. Key Responsibilities Preparation and review of journal entries, reconciliations, and recurring accounting activities. Maintain core accounting functions, including General Ledger (G/L) activities. Perform detailed account reconciliations (e.g., bank accounts, balance sheet items) and investigate/resolve discrepancies. Responsible for the accounting and bookkeeping functions related to employee payroll and benefits. Lead key activities within the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Provide financial analysis and interpret results, communicating findings to stakeholders in a clear, business-focused manner. Assist with the preparation of reports, schedules, and documentation required for external audit needs. Work with and provide input on accounting systems and technology.
Requirements Education:
Must have Bachelor's degree in Accounting from reputable University and GPA of at least 3.0
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of solid G/L and Analysis experience. For-Profit, Industry experience required
Certification:
CPA designation is preferred/encouraged. Skills Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Technology savvy, with strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex financial data. Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills.
Work Environment and Benefits Work Schedule:
Office hours are 8:30 AM
  • 4:30 PM, with some flexibility
Location:
I n-office position in Metairie, LA; work-from-home if needed on special occasion.
