Job Overview -
Senior Accountant Compensation:
$85,000 - $92,000/year + bonus
Location:
Camden County, NJ Schedule:
Monday to Friday (Hybrid) Atlantic Group is hiring a Senior Accountant in Camden County, NJ for our client, supporting general ledger accounting, financial reporting, month-end close, and portfolio accounting activities within a fast-paced real estate environment. This role will support a high-performing accounting team responsible for a significant operating division while partnering closely with leadership on financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting, and process improvements. The ideal candidate will bring strong general ledger accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Responsibilities as the
Senior Accountant:
Month-End Close:
Support month-end close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and reporting deliverables.
General Ledger Accounting:
Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, analyze financial data, and ensure accuracy of accounting records and supporting documentation.
Financial Reporting:
Prepare financial reports, audit schedules, budgets, and supporting analysis for leadership, external auditors, and operational teams.
Team Oversight:
Assist with training, reviewing work, and supporting staff accountants while helping maintain accounting workflows and deadlines.
Cross-Functional Coordination:
Partner with accounts payable, operations, and management teams to support financial reporting accuracy and operational initiatives.
Process Improvement:
Support internal controls, reporting enhancements, cash management activities, and ad hoc financial analysis projects. Qualifications for the
Senior Accountant:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
Experience:
3+ years of general ledger accounting, corporate accounting, or property accounting experience is required.
Industry Knowledge:
Experience within real estate, property management, housing, or portfolio accounting environments is preferred.
Technical Skills:
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills are required, while experience with Yardi, RealPage, or similar accounting software is preferred.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong analytical skills, communication abilities, attention to detail, organizational skills, leadership potential, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment are required.
