This is not an entry-level bookkeeping position. We are looking for a highly organized, experienced construction accounting professional who can independently manage workflows, job costing, reconciliations, vendor/payment tracking, and accounting organization within a fast-paced construction environment. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, confident in QuickBooks Online, and comfortable taking ownership of accounting and operational processes with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities Construction Accounting & Bookkeeping Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) workflows accurately within QuickBooks Online Maintain accurate vendor ledgers, customer balances, and payment application tracking Maintain accurate job costing by project, labor, materials, subcontractors, and purchase categories Review and reconcile Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, vendor ledgers, and project financial reports for accuracy Assist with monthly financial organization and reporting preparation for accountants/CPAs and tax professionals Support bonding, insurance, and financial documentation requests as needed AIA Billing & Construction Operations Prepare and submit

billing applications Maintain percent-complete billing tracking Track retainage and stored materials Assist with project budget tracking and cost analysis Coordinate with project managers regarding project financial status Understand construction payment workflows, supplier invoicing, and subcontractor billing Payroll & Administrative Support Process and manage payroll within QuickBooks Online Maintain organized employee and accounting records Assist with vendor communication and supplier account management Support office/accounting workflow organization and process improvement initiatives Required Qualifications 3+ years of construction bookkeeping or construction accounting Advanced QuickBooks Online Strong understanding of job costing and project-based accounting
REQUIRED
Experience with vendor reconciliation, payment tracking, and ledger management Ability to read and understand Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, and vendor ledgers Strong Excel and spreadsheet organization skills Ability to independently develop workflows and identify missing financial documentation Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Highly Preferred Roofing or construction industry experience AIA billing experience (G702/G703) Bonding and insurance documentation familiarity Payroll processing experience Experience working in fast-paced construction operations What We're Looking For Highly independent and proactive Strong accounting workflow mindset Precise and detail-oriented Comfortable identifying problems and proposing solutions Able to take ownership of tasks with confidence and accuracy Strong communicator capable of helping improve internal systems and processes
