Job Description

Interim Senior Accounting Manager Our client, a high-growth public company, is seeking an Interim Senior Accounting Manager to oversee and optimize the month-end close process and support scalable financial reporting. This position follows a hybrid work schedule, 2 days/week in their office in Menlo Park, CA. This engagement is expected to last 6 months.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules Prepare and review financial statements, variance analyses, and internal reporting packages Maintain and enhance close calendars, workflows, and reporting processes Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and reporting requirements Support external audit processes and coordinate with auditors Partner with reporting teams to improve data flow and overall reporting accuracy Support internal control and compliance initiatives, including audit readiness Identify and implement process improvements to streamline manual workflows and enhance efficiency Optimize accounting systems and reporting structures to support scalability Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and leadership teams Mentor and support team members while contributing to the development of a scalable accounting function Drive automation and continuous improvement across accounting operations
Requirements:
7+ years of progressive accounting experience with exposure to public company environments Strong experience managing month-end close and financial reporting processes Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and accounting operations Experience supporting audits and internal control frameworks Strong process improvement and systems optimization experience Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-growth environments CPA and/or public accounting background preferred
