Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, this role is responsible for overseeing daily accounting activities, managing the month-end close process, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, preparing financial reporting, and leading a high-performing accounting team. The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong leadership skills, and possesses a deep understanding of GAAP and financial controls. Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day operations of the Accounting Department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial transactions. Manage and develop accounting staff, providing coaching, guidance, and performance management. Oversee the general ledger, account reconciliations, and month-end close process. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records, financial statements, and supporting reports in accordance with GAAP. Coordinate annual audits and serve as the primary contact for external auditors. Partner with external tax preparers and oversee sales tax, 1099, and other required regulatory filings. Maintain effective internal controls and support compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Oversee fixed asset accounting and balance sheet management. Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to provide financial reporting, analysis, and business support. Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and drive operational efficiency.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management or similar related field. A minimum of 5 years of recent experience as a Senior Level Accountant or equivalent. CPA preferred, not required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting, instruction, and cross‑department collaboration. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Advanced analytical skills to interpret financial data, generate insights, and communicate findings to leadership. Strong problem‑solving skills to identify, resolve, and prevent financial issues.
