San Diego (hybrid - 3 days onsite) Overview This Senior Accounting Manager will play a key leadership role within a corporate accounting organization, overseeing core liability accounting, month?end close activities, and internal controls. The role partners closely with cross?functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong governance, and continuous improvement of accounting operations in a fast?paced, evolving environment. Why This Role Stands Out High?impact leadership role with visibility across accounting and finance Opportunity to modernize and automate accounting processes using emerging technology Stable organization with scale, structure, and long?term growth orientation Key Responsibilities Lead month?end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting Oversee liability?related accounting areas including accruals, vendor?related items, and debt Ensure compliance with internal accounting policies, GAAP, and internal control standards Partner cross?functionally with Finance and Operations to support accurate accruals and risk management Manage, develop, and mentor a team of accounting professionals Drive process improvements, automation, and system enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability Support oversight of accounting risks and emerging technical accounting considerations Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance 8+ years of progressive accounting experience Strong knowledge of US GAAP, accrual accounting, and internal controls Experience leading teams and managing complex close processes Ability to operate effectively in dynamic, multi?stakeholder environments Preferred Qualifications CPA preferred; MBA a plus Public company and/or technology environment experience Background in public accounting or audit Experience with ERP systems and close automation tools Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs.
